The concluding presentation of Stanford Entrepreneurship Week was a panel discussion with Tim Draper, Tony Perkins, and Michael Moe. This was quite inspirational. They had a bunch of stgrong messages.
- This is the best time to start a company. Most great companies have started during recessions. Yes, getting funding is harder, but less money tends to be good for entrpeneurs.
- Do something big and really important. There’s too many other people doing little stuff.
- Be sure and make lots of deals. As Tim put it, if you grow zucchini and all you don’t do any deals, then all you’ll eat is zucchini.
- There’s a generational change going on from the computer generation to the instant communication generation
- There remains a huge opportunity for innovation aimed at minority populations in the US and at developing countries.
