Mr Hempel, I am one of the co-reviewers who are working on translating your this book into Chinese version. During our work, I found a place quite confusing. It’s a bit trivial but keeps haunting me. In the section 6.1, there is the line “With your understanding that your boss, the CEO, wants to look good to the board members, you can help by praising the CEO in front of the board and by helping them with their presentation.” Here I feel quite confused about the “them” in “by helping them with their presentation”. Does this “them” refer to the board members or the CEO? I just couldn’t imagine that a VTE has to help with the presentations for the board members (actually I couldn’t imagine that the board members need to give a presentation at all), but if it refers to the CEO then would the singular form be more appropriate? I am totally confused by this line and I tried discussing with co-workers but didn’t get a conclusion. Fortunately I found your blog and wish you could give us the final answer of this question.

By the way your book is quite interesting and personally I enjoy the whole procedure of translating your book. Thank you and all the co-writers for this practical and interesting book.
